The Legacy of a Handwritten Life

Meet Opal

Inspired by my great-grandmother Opal, we are rooted in reverence for the enduring beauty of handwritten words.

She was a meticulous daily journaler, documenting her world with clarity and reflection, and a devoted card writer, making sure her family felt celebrated throughout the year.

Her archives reveal a storied legacy preserved through the simple, intentional act of writing.

From Archive to Artistry

The Story Continues

Opal Letter Co. is proudly named in her honor, carrying forward her example of thoughtful communication into the present.

Our purpose is to help you intentionally connect with your loved ones and celebrate life's storied moments along the way.

From our studio to your home, her legacy lives on, one letter at a time.

Step 1

Hand-Painted Illustrations

Every piece starts with an idea, a pencil sketch, and a color palette. Then, I use gouache paint and fine-tipped brushes to bring each illustration to life.

Step 2

Printed on Paper

Once the paint has dried, we translate the illustrations onto thick cotton paper. We select only premium, archival materials to create products meant to last.

Step 3

Packaged with Care

Each order is tucked into recyclable packaging before making its journey to you. We treat each package with as much care as the art inside.

Step 4

Into Your Hands

The real story begins once our products leave the studio and enter your life. Our work is purposely designed to be lived with, written on, and passed down.

Our Values

  • Conscious Creation

We believe in creating slowly and sustainably to honor the earth and the stories we share upon it.

  • Intentional Connection

We believe handwritten notes turn simple messages into meaningful moments of connection.

  • Narrative Wonder

We believe illustrations can tell stories, spark curiosity, and make every day more whimsical.

  • Enduring Artistry

We believe in the lasting beauty of tangible pieces meant to be kept, reused, and archived.

A Note From

the artist

I've loved creating things my whole life. From making my own stationery to painting my walls on a whim, I grew up making art. My family encouraged me all along the way, and in 2021, I started Opal Letter Co.

I am constantly inspired by the beauty of stories, art, music, and the natural world. I create for those who, like me, believe that beautiful lives are written with intention.

What started as a small desk in the corner of my home has grown into a studio sending paper goods around the world. My great-grandmother's handwritten legacy continues to guide our purpose as we look to the future.

Thank you for letting my work be a small part of your story. My hope is our products help you slow down, connect with a loved one, or simply add a bit of magic to your home.

With Love,
Sarah
